GOOD DAY FOLKS,

IT IS A BEAUTIFUL SUNDAY HERE IN CEBU. AND I FEEL PRETTY GOOD MENTALLY TOO. TODAY IS MY SEMI-WEEKLY WEIGH IN DAY. I LOST OVER A KILO THIS TIME, CHEESECAKE AND ALL. I AM STILL BEHIND MY GOAL OF A POUND PER WEEK, BUT IT IS OK. I THINK WITH THE ADDED ACTIVITY I AM DOING I SHOULD CATCH UP IN A MONTH OR SO. JUST NOT ALL THAT CONCERNED ABOUT IT. WHAT REALLY GETS ME, IN A GOOD WAY, IS THAT I CONTINUE MY DOWNWARD TREND. LOOKS GREAT ON THE GRAPH.

TALKING ABOUT BISCUITS AND GRAVY. I LOVE BISCUITS AND GRAVY. I CAN UNDERSTAND WHY MANY DO NOT, AS THERE ARE VERY FEW RESTAURANTS THAT CAN MAKE THEM DECENTLY WHERE THEY TASTE GOOD. MANY MAKE THEIR GRAVY FLAVORLESS, OR THE GRAVY IS WAY TOO THIN. MY SISTER USED TO MAKE ME THE BEST IN ALL THE LAND. SHE WOULD START WITH JIMMY DEAN HOT SAUSAGE AND PUT IN ENOUGH FLOUR AND/OR CORNSTARCH TO THICKEN IT UP TO THE CONSISTENCY OF WARM PUDDING. SHE USED THE BISCUIT RECIPE ON THE BISQUIT PACKAGE. WONDERFUL!!! THAT IS NOT ON MY LIST OF FOODS TO MAKE. FOR SURE I WOULD NOT CONTROL MY PORTIONS, YET. BUT I EXPECT TO SOMEDAY, JUST AS I EXPECT TO DO PORTION CONTROL WITH CHEESECAKE - SOMEDAY. JUST NOT TODAY.

I AM REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO FISHING AND CAMPING AGAIN SOMEDAY. HAS BEEN MANY YEARS SINCE MY LAST TRIP. THAT WAS BEFORE MY HIP WENT OUT TOTALLY. EVEN THEN SLEEPING ON THE AIR MATTRESS ON THE GROUND CAUSED WAY TOO MUCH PAIN. AND I COULD NOT GET UP WITHOUT HELP. SO I GAVE UP AFTER THAT MISERABLE TRIP. BUT WITH A NEW HIP AND MINUS 150 POUNDS I BELIVE I WILL BE MUCH MORE READY TO COOK MY OWN FISH FOR BREAKFAST AGAIN.

    We have biscuits and gravy, no sausage, every Sunday at home. I used to eat much more, now I have two biscuits and just a tiny bit of gravy on them so lower calories. Portion control. So it is nice not to do without but want to get down to being satisfied with just ONE biscuit, since they are large size. If I had to give every thing up, I'd be too sad to continue. But mini portions make me happy enough so far!

    Way to go Steve. Great to see the graph going down. Portion control.... well like Aurlie I cut out many many things. In fact I went on a fibro eating plan and for three months got 'cleansed'. It was a great feeling. However I do eat many things again now that I did not eat them. However if I had them at home I would overdo it, so my portion control is only to eat them when I am out celebrating. This seems to work for me, perhaps because I do not feel deprived. I know I can have them if I want to, and really enjoy those 'treats'.

Have to smile Steve, cheesecake happens to be one of my 'foods of choice' and chocolate is the other. :)

Here's to us all - one day at a time.

    Yep, I love seeing those graphs!

I've mastered portion control with quite a foods, but it's really taken some time. It was just easier to make certain things off limit for a while. I'm blessed to have someone to share treats, so there isn't a lot of chance for me to overdo it.

Congratutions on your weight loss so far.
