Since we were out taking pictures of the Hawks, I wanted to take pics of the country in general. There were a few Long Horns, and other types of Cows in the pasture.
One of my favorites. She is a real beauty!

I'm wondering if this little one is a mix of Long Horn and Black Angus. It was following the black Cow around everywhere, however the Cow looks to be a male to me. And with the white in the Calf's head, it can't be pure Angus, but then I'm not an expert on Cows. Maybe TXGRANDMA will know.

We drove up the road a bit where the male Red Tail Hawk usually stays. He probably will start hanging out there again now that he has a new mate. It is a beautiful area, and a small stream runs through it. It is way off though, so I couldn't get a picture of it.

While I was standing there taking pictures, a Raven started talking to me. He was so quiet about it. Kind of sweet.

Starlings were in the area as well.

We're on our way back home. There is a Bison Ranch about 5 mins. from our house. Some of the Bison's were grazing, when DH spotted a new Calf. Oh, it is so cute.

Time to call it a day!

There is only the tumbleweed missing Jeanne emoticon . That looks great all that open space.

A horrible day here with rain and strong wind today.

I hope it stays fine for you this week.

Just love your photos! When we were little, being that I lived in Wyoming, we took a trip to North Dakota, and were stopped by a heard of Buffalo's in the road. A little calf came up to the window so, of course, we had to pet it until momma came and whisked him away.

I guess it's true, doesn't matter what it is, if it's a baby, it's got to be cute!!! emoticon Hope you are having a beautiful Sunday, my friend!     Jeanne! Thanks for all the wonderful photos of the animals. From your photo of the calf I really couldn't tell much. The black bovine in the picture with the calf definitely looked like a mama cow to me......Eileen is right about the cross between angus and hereford. The calves are born black with white faces and down here, they are very popular. The farmers like the black coats because their skin is thicker, and the crossbreds are not as wild as straight angus. The calf in the picture below on your blog is definitely a Longhorn calf, with the white along his back and his black sides!
Enjoyed the close up photo of the starling, have never seen one that close before.
Also, as usual, enjoyed the photos of the scenery! emoticon for sharing!

Jeanne, there is a breed of cattle that are white face angus. We used to have them on our farm. It is a cross between the hereford and angus many yrs. ago and is a very tender cut of meat. We had herefords many yrs. and then changed over to the white faced. Good pictures!! Thanks yet again!!
