I'm down 4.7 lbs in 6 days! Wow! I have a lot of weight to lose and this is only my first week, so I realize I won't see huge losses like this for long. But for today, I'm doing the happy dance!
Weight Watchers Online has got to be the easiest diet I have ever done. Fruits and most veggies are free, so I don't even have to track those if I don't want to. Right now, they have my daily points set at 36 points and my weekly "anytime" points set at 49. I stick to about 6 points at breakfast, 10 points at lunch, 13 points for supper, and that leaves about 7 points to grab a snack with or throw in with a meal that needs a few extra than what I averaged. When I make my meal, I just scan the barcode on the box, put in the number of servings I'm having, and I'm done! The app on my tablet tracks it, so there's nothing to write down. Sometimes, I come across a product not in the data base, but it's super easy to type in the few items of nutritional info they need to figure the points, then it's saved for the next time I eat it. There are also many items that don't have a barcode and you just find them with a few clicks and add them to your tracker.
One of the things I also like is WW's Recipe Builder tool. You enter in your ingredients and it figures out the points. And there are some awesome recipes on their site! Heck, all over the internet, for that matter! I've been making my family the same thing I'm eating and they can't tell at all that it's "diet food", as they like to call it. LOL
One thing that the naysayers of WW are right about, though, is you can easily do this diet and still eat a lot of junk. I have had both pizza and a snack size McFlurry this week, which fit into my point count and didn't keep me from losing weight. WW strongly advises that you follow their Good Health Guidelines (GHGs) and I think that may become even more important as a person loses weight on this plan and their daily points go down. But for right now, I've got points left at the end of the day and am happy to use them on whatever I want! The way I see it, yes, we all need to be a healthy weight and we all need to eat healthy food and obtain healthy eating habits. All three of those things are true exclusively and independently of each other even though they can go hand in hand. Currently, my biggest concern is losing weight. I can do that on this plan whether or not I stick with the GHGs every day or not. I definitely TRY to remember the GHGs, but I'm no where near perfect. Either way, I'm losing weight. And not being obese will go a long way to making me a healthier person.
