Long Week

Saturday, September 14, 2013

It's been a long and busy week. When I say busy, I mean that I've started my days at 6-6:30 and was still doing things 9-10 at night. I didn't get most of the things done this week that I intended to do. These things are still on my list as they must be done.

I had to get up at 6 again this morning. I have a meeting from 9-3 and an hour's drive each way. On the way home, I have to stop and get some brownie mix. We are celebrating my God-daughter niece's 18th birthday tomorrow and I promised that I'd bring them. I've been getting her make-up and perfume and giving it to her before school starts so she will have new things when school starts. So at least I don't have to think about getting her something today.

I realize that I may have bit off more than I can chew. I just have to again work on a schedule where I do a little each day so I accomplish everything and still get some me time in. I'd love to say "I can do this!" but I have said this before. I did get some books out of the library on how to become more organized. I just have to get the time to read and implement them.

We are at that place in life that it is more important to enjoy life than just live it! emoticon

It's tough finding that balance. I'm working on it too. We can do this! One step at a time!

Two excellent books on organization that worked for me when nothing else did are called "Organizing from the inside out" for organizing your home and home office, and "Time management from the inside out", both by New York Times best selling author Julie Morgenstern. I have ADHD and NOTHING ever, ever worked until I read her books. They are SO logical that I am surprised no one else thought of the idea. I had read many books before these and these were the only ones that made sense to me.

Your days have been extremely long and I wish you the best in figuring things out, my friend. I hope you find some relaxation this weekend.

Love, Chelsea
