Cool Saturday

Saturday, September 14, 2013

three days ago it was 96 degrees, it was 39 degrees last night..froze my Nortons off!! i started out with one blanket and sheet, got up for first rest room break, too lazy/sleepy/groggy to go to cedar closet for another blankie, so grabed my winter robe from door-back and slung it on the part of the bed I figured I would lie on. Three hours later, still cold, refusing ot get up in the cool air and stuck lying in one rigid spot, I finally just got up.
Can you believe such laziness?
Since today is errands, marsh hiking, housework, I am pretty sure I see a nap with my name on it later today. Just or a couple minutes....
Going to check blackberry and raspberry bushes for survivors today.. they sure taste swell in January on Angel food cake or homemade shortcakes..

Autumn rains, berry jellies, shorter nights, warmer blankets.
Ahhh. Beautiful leaves soon.

I am thrilled with the cooler weather here--it was 95 on Thursday with high humidity so a high of low 70's is a welcome change---silly girl not to get up and get something warmer---but I have done the same thing with the robe idea---but I have also got up and slipped a sweatshirt over my pjs, too.

It was the same here, from super hot to 45 degrees over night. Someone used their wood stove or fireplace as smoke in the crisp air this morning as I hosed down DH truck windshield to help clean it. Brrr. House is warmer as we cooked some eggs. I do love this time of year, but not waking up in the night cold. I bet you got another blanket out for tonight. Unless a new heat wave fries us again.
