I had dinner with my oldest friend( friends for 57 years) and she shared her adventures in Alaska , she and her hubby returned a few weeks ago.. her son is a State Trooper on St. Mary's Island (it is not an island really, it has a road in and out)there.. he has been featured twice on the TV show.. HE also solved a arson triple homicide there..
She was telling me that the food prices were so outrageous that she took pictures of the foods so people down here would believe her. One orange, $14.62.. a gallon of milk was $17.84 on sale! A box of laundry detergent for 42 loads was $52.00!! Those are not typos.
Some real adventures there, not like my lighthouse ones, fer sure.. Hours of stories.. a whole different world up there..
We are on the road doing errands tomorrow, new windshield wipers for DD car, dad's house check for critters, emptying dehumidifier,etc.. more things there for garage sale..
batch cooking and maybe making and freezing spaghetti sauce for winter..
