A GOOD THURSDAY EVENING TO ALL.

I REALLY BLEW IT YESTERDAY. I BOUGHT A SMALL CHEESECAKE WITH THE BEST OF INTENTIONS. I WAS GOING TO EAT ONE PIECE, ABOUT 1/4 OF THE CAKE. WE WERE WATCHING A MOVIE AND I HAD A SECOND PIECE, AND THEN THE THIRD AND LAST PIECE. I ATE MORE CALORIES IN CHEESECAKE THAN ALMOST ALL MY OTHER FOODS FOR THE DAY. REALLY MESSED UP MY CONTROLED PORTIONS.

GOT IN OVER AN HOURS WORTH OF EXERCISE. TREADMILL, POOL WALKING, AND 3 MINUTES OF SWIMMING. CAN'T BELIEVE HOW FAST I GET TIRED SWIMMING THE CRAWL. BUT EXPECT IT TO GET BETTER.

GOT OUT TO THE MALL TO PICK UP A COUPLE ITEMS. GOT IN PLENTY OF WALKING ON CRUTCHES, BUT I NO LONGER COUNT THAT AS EXERCISE WHEN I AM JUST UP AND ABOUT.

THANK YOU ALL FOR THE CONGRATS ON MY TIME OF SOBRIETY. I TRY TO NOT BE TOO PROUD OF IT FOR MYSELF, AS IT TOOK A LOT MORE POWER THAN I HAVE TO KEEP ME SOBER ALL THIS TIME. IT WOULD BE LIKE TAKING CREDIT FOR CURING MYSELF OF CANCER, OR ANY OTHER TERMINAL DISEASE. I JUST FEEL GREATFUL WHEN MY HEAD IS ON RIGHT.

My friend, I am so sorry that the cheese cake got the best of you. If it helps any, it would have done the same thing to me!! emoticon There are things that I just DO NOT buy, as I KNOW that I am not going to be able to have self control with them.

emoticon on your sobriety. emoticon emoticon

Your doing a wonderful job on your exercise. emoticon Keep up the emoticon work.

    Hugs to you,

You needed three friends to come over to help you with that cheesecake.
Maybe find someplace that sells a single piece, so no extra temptations.
I bake my own cheesecake (not much sugar) but still high calorie, so I have
to give some away to thin people friends so we don't eat the whole thing.

I admit I had a few all cheese cake days, then back to healthy eating.
As long as I rarely do that, it works. But can't give in to much, it just
    isn't worth the set back...

There are some things were portion-control and good intentions just don't work. Congratulations on a good day of fitness, though!

I do like sobriety celebrations! Not because it's an achievement, but because it's a miracle!

Never eat cheesecake alone. It should be shared, and only on special occasions. Don't be too hard on yourself. Get back on the horse and keep trying.

Lofllama is SO right!! Put together some little packets of reasonable treats, like nuts. And remember, you can go overboard on ANYTHING. I would have done the same as you...especially with donuts!! So, I haven't bought any in years and I don't even think of them often and couldn't care less...I have even been able to happily refuse them when they are offered. Time...give yourself a break!!
