Trying for conscious eating instead of mindless eating.

I tried really hard yesterday to stay on track. I will do that again today. The morning and lunch were OK but then I got the munchies--yet again. Darn.

I did something I have not done before though. I kinda sat with the negative feelings when they came up. And I said over and over, " I am losing weight. I am losing weight." And i noticed my breathing changed when I got quiet like that.

In the afternoon it seemed like I just wanted the things in between meals. I will work on this some more. At least I was more conscious of my eating.

Oh--and I ate breakfast at the table! I have been aiming at doing that for weeks but never did it till today! emoticon

    Mindful eating is the key-it is so easy to wolf down something and barely remember you ate it-and forget about enjoying it....thanks for the reminder.

    It is GREAT that you are taking things slowly and doing things more mindfully. I think that is something that will help us BOTH get and stay on track with what we're trying to do. Thank you for a reminder to slow down, sit with the feelings that arise when habit would dictate eating and being more mindful of what is going on when you think you want to eat and when you are actually hungry!

    i find when I am alone eating if i light a candle or put on some music at times it keeps me at the table in more of a dinning mode. You started the day off at the table emoticon for reaching a goal.

    I know how you feel Chris! I was going along fine and hit a snag! I have been allowing myself to snack when I used to not! It is hard to get back on track when you go off! We can do this! Keep up the good work! emoticon emoticon
