It is the best description for my life right now. A change is occurring, with all the hectic rush and confusion that usually accompanies a major move. For a while, things will be unpredictable, busy, and continuously changing. During this time, I cannot lose sight of my goals. It is easy to say, well, I am busy, I better eat what I can. Or, I haven't had a doughnut for a while, and Chinese food, and I haven't seen the inside of my favorite restaurant for a year, so maybe I should indulge. That is the wrong answer. What is the right answer? Keep on track. Just because I completed my final physical fitness test today, doesn't mean that I can give up on working out and running until spring, when the next one is due. Talking about my physical fitness test - I scored 40 push ups (in two minutes), 65 sit-ups (in two minutes) and I ran the two mile track in 18:02. I am very proud of that 18:02, I haven't seen those numbers since I was in my very early 20's. I am also proud of the fact that I haven't chosen to reward myself with food. I ate a healthy breakfast, and a healthy lunch. I walked past the tempting display of cakes and ice cream. My body is important to me, and I will not reward good performance with sugar, calories and chemicals that shouldn't be considered food. That would be counterproductive. So, for the next few weeks, my goal is to stick to the diet (within reason), plan as much as possible, which may not be a lot, and get at least a bit of a workout until things settle back into their neat little ruts once again. See you on the other side of flux.
