Cat gave me a scare!

Thursday, September 12, 2013

Yesterday, Snaggles blasted out the front door as my husband was receiving packages from the UPS person. I ran out and called his name. He darted under the yews by the front window. I dove under the bushes. I had evergreens in my hair and got covered in mulch. I pulled him out of his lair and took him into the house.

He should not be outside. He lost some teeth and is way to gentle a cat. Gosh I realized how much I love him. Now we go outside to get the newspaper via the garage door. We put him in the back bedroom when we need to let people into our home.

Despite great cautionary Russian Blue has made it outside twice. Once in the rain and once in the snow She wanted back in (just didn't want to admit it) but now, having had that taste of freedom, she is a pain in the patootie...We have to guard the door with great vigilance. Especially when Plumbers and the sort are walking in and out.
Scared the life out of me that's fo sho.

I'm so glad you were able to retrieve Snaggles! No cat should be outside unsupervised. I have had some leash-trained cats who did pretty well with that... but they still are susceptible to bugs and neighborhood marauders, even with you on the other end of the leash!

They really are quick, aren't they. Little monsters!

Cats are like that. I've had some that will escape outside and then want right back in because they don't know what to do with all that space. lol Glad you caught him before he got into trouble.

I have had cats that run out and could not be out. I was never ready for a chase, but just like many things, you have to just make it happen.

I am looking forward to when I can adopt again.
