My Journey so far....

Thursday, September 12, 2013

I have a question for my dear friends. When I started SP I had already lost 22 pounds and now since I have been at SP I lost 20 more. I feel cheated when my tracker says I only lost 20 pounds when I have actually lost 40. I have been thinking of redoing my tracker starting at my highest weight so it show I lost 40 pounds. What do you guys think about this? Just wanted some opinions. I still have 100 to go.
love ya Lu

That is a lot of weight to have lost. It took great effort. I would certainly let the record be straightened for it is motivating for you plus helpful to others who may be struggling.

I'm looking at the same thing. I am going to change mine now to show the 24 pounds I lost in the last 5 months too before coming on here last week.

I understand because I feel the same way. I was down ten pound when I started. I would love to add that to mine.

I say, add them. You lost them, you had to work for it.

What's to think about? You have lost 40 pounds since you made the decision to do it. It doesn't matter how, or where, or when - the fact is it's GONE, and it's been a result of your hard work and dedication! GO FOR IT! YOU DESERVE IT!

I think you should show it all too. It's only fair because you haven't just lost 20 but 42 lbs. emoticon emoticon

I've thought about that too - since I had also lost weight before joining. I may do the same!

That's what I did because seeing my total loss - including what I did before Spark - is part of my overall motivation! Go for it!

I would certainly change it, because you have worked at the loss of all those pounds, so you deserve to be recognized for that. At least do it for yourself. Of course others, too, so we can see your marvelous progress!!! emoticon emoticon emoticon

I had lost around fourteen pounds before joining this site & am now at 19.4 pounds lost. I started mine from the very beginning so it says 19.4 even though some of the weight was lost prior to joining! I think seeing the full amount each day when I get on here gives me added momentum to eat better & work out more! Change it to reflect all your hard work with & without SP! You've earned it!

Lu that is what I would do. It will show your honest loss! Plus you can look back and see your pounds lost! Lorie

Definitely change the ticker!! The ticker represents where you started and where you are hoping to get to. I don't see why people should not know about your full accomplishments, just due to the fact that you lost them before you joined SP.

I think everyone should share a total or complete picture of where they have been, what they have accomplished, and where they plan to move to!

DO IT!

I think adjusting the tracker to show the full loss is totally logical. You might want to keep the "I lost 20 pounds with SparkPeople" icon/avatar, though, since that's actually true.

I have thought about that myself because I had lost just a little before starting sparkpeople! If I had lost as much as you then ABSOLUTELY!! Change that tracker!! Great job!!

I think you should put your tracker to reflect how much weight you have lost total. Show that 40 pound weight loss!!!!
