I am not in the habit of acknowledging positive things that happen in my life. I have always been attuned to note the negative. being raised in a negative household positivity was hard to come by.

so I will try to see the things in my life that are good. I will try I may be not succeed, it is difficult to change the habit of a lifetime.

At least I still have a sense of humour emoticon

It is hard, but the good news is, like exercise you'll get stronger with practice. At first, it's hard to find anything, but as time goes by, it gets easier. It's a lot like looking for shells on the beach. At first, everything just looks like a jumble of stuff, but once your brain and your eye coordinate to find certain shapes, finding shells becomes easier and easier. Same with rock hunting or fossil hunting. At first, it's just a bunch of rocks, but eventually your brain begins to pick out shapes, designs, colors. . .they get easier and easier to find, and it becomes fun picking them out.

Looking for blessings hidden in the mire of your difficulties can be hard work at first, but eventually, your brain gets the idea, and can pick things out easier, like gems hiding in the plain rock of your life. They're there, but sometimes hard to find.

My blessings today: apples brought down by the storms, and easy to pick; the dog being agreeable (a real rarity); a chore finally finished; a phone call with good news.

I've gotten into the habit of listing three things that I am thankful for on my personal journal that's with the planner. It gets me thinking early in the morning and helps me have a better attitude during the day.
