It's Thursday Peeps!

Thursday, September 12, 2013

And it took forever to get here! Or at least it seems it did. I'm having the week from HE** again at work. Project is all jacked up and I was almost in tears yesterday afternoon. No tears today though, just powering on though. emoticon

Yesterday's drive home was an adventure. When I left work I saw the nearly black clouds to the north but they looked far enough a way to not impact my drive home. Boy was I WRONG! On the west side there was a few sprinkles but the more east I went the harder it came down. By the time I got past The Strip on Dessert Inn Rd, the roads were starting to flood! I (and just about everyone else) had to slow down and move into the center turning lane in some places. The water was shooting back out of the manhole covers like the fountains at the Bellagio. I did make it home, but it took me over an hour (most days it's 30-40 mins). Here's a couple of pictures (taken out of car window while STOPPED at lights):

I won't complain about the rain. I love it and we need it. We need even more of it. We're like 2 1/2 inches below what we normally get by this time of the year and still way behind on rainfall over all.

Since it was rainy...I made chili for dinner last night. It was good and since yesterday was one of the coolest days of the summer, it seemed right to make. I had some 2% shredded cheese and a tbsp of mayo on top. Then 1/2 or so of some Slow Churned Take The Cake ice cream.

After hubby went to bed I watched Star Trek Into Darkness. Got to bed about midnight. I'm watching it again on my tablet while working out. It should take another day and half to get though it.

Dinner..again is up in the air. Have to see what we have at home.

OK..this is conclude my blog for today! emoticon Have great Thursday (what's left of it) and on to TGIF!

Awesome pictures! Been rainy here, too. So this morning with it black and weeping outside, I put on a big old pot of ham and beans. They smell so good. Corn bread is in baking, just waiting for his lordship to pull up in the coach and four! (Grin) Glad you got home safe. Hugs, Calen~
