His office finally called today with the results of my heart rate monitor test. I have an "elevated heart rate at intense activity levels."
NO DUH! That's why I went to see him in the first place!
Anyway I am going to start on a beta blocker which is supposed to reduce heart rate. The treadmill test has been postponed until after I get back. Now that he has prescribed a medication I guess I'll go ahead and take the test in October.
I am holding at 149 pounds. I am astounded. I haven't really been counting or tracking consistently, but just trying to be aware of WHAT and HOW MUCH I eat. Maybe this is becoming more intuitive?
Friday and Saturday TC and I are volunteering at the county fair and our shifts include a free meal. Not sure what I'm going to do about that. Maybe take my dinner one day, and indulge the next? Or be good both days?
I know, as we all do, that fried junk food does NOT taste as good as it used to, or as good as it smells, and is in no way worth the calories or the inevitable struggle to get back on track. So I'm hoping to do the right thing. (I don't sound too positive, do I?)
I still have at least 14 pounds to lose although of course I could go much lower. After this trip to Peru we have very little planned for the rest of the year and whew! That's exciting because we've been away most of 2013, it seems. I plan to hit the ground running in October. We will rejoin the fitness center and start training for a half-marathon on November 3.
