Time for some REAL TALK!!

I was thinking yesterday, I met with a personal trainer to discuss my goals. Just as a jump start, she asked me "What has stopped you from losing this weight & how many times have to tried to lose weight in the past 5 years?" Well when I thought about it, I was just like "Ummmmm.. probably over 8 times, heck really maybe more than that too many times to count honestly".. I realize my problem has been that I START but NEVER remain consistent!!!

I mean we all say "Monday is the day" or "Next week I'll begin" or "Just 1 last weekend"... I realize that I've used those excuses 1 too many times that Now I'm "240 pounds of just I'll Start on Monday" "240 pounds of just 1 more Weekend"... I realize that Now is My time!!! I can't keep pushing off my health for 1 more Monday or 1 more weekend. So, I must stay determined to finish this race. emoticon

The trainer told me it will take me about 12 to 14 months to lose this weight, that's crazy but that's the real reality. So, that means I have a long road ahead of me but I will stay CONSISTENT.

emoticon emoticon emoticon Thanks for reading...

This is so true! Consistency is what I struggle with too, but we just have to emoticon Every time we fall and get right back up, it's a new opportunity to push yourself and work on that consistency. When I started Spark I'm sure I only managed about a week of consistency before I fell off. My latest 'attempt' I went for 4 months before having a major fall. Gotta just keep plugging away.

Love your blog ! You can do it ! "The only workouts you regret are the ones you don't do". Remember - this journey has many keys to success:
1. Consistency -if you are doing Insanity or any other video - just push play every day.
2. Drink your 8 glasses of water faithfully - it helps the process
3. Eating healthy. If you are doing Insanity, follow the meal plan book for a few weeks, make yourself stick to it until you learn what healthy foods you like.
4. Plan your meals and snacks. If you have healthy things on hand that you like that's what you will eat instead of junk.
5. When you eat junk or miss a workout - and you will sometimes- remember its a 90/10 thing - if you are doing the right things 90% of the time you will still succeed.
6. It's a lifestyle change not just a "diet" or just a workout.
7. There are lots of people here to support you !

Go for it !

You may have a long road ahead, but you will not stay at 240 pounds for the trip. Each week you will be a little bit healthier, a little bit closer to that goal. By the time you have 4 or 5 months in, you will look SOOO good, and feel better too! And by the time you get to the last 10 pounds, you will be stopping traffic!! AND be out of diabetes danger, hopefully!! Your kids want their mom around a long long time!

Not crazy at all. It would have been crazy if you put it all ON in 12 to 14 months, though, wouldn't it? It won't come off a pound at a time. It will come off a habit at a time.
