changes...

Thursday, September 12, 2013

To say the last few years have been insanely crazy would be an understatement. Our family has gone through some extreme changes. I updated my story which basically covers most of it. I lost my daughter to her terribly nasty cancer on April 15, 2012. Got a job I ended up loving last August. In January, my Chiari Malformation reared it's ugly head and took over my life. After brain surgery and fusing my neck to my skull, I am recovering. In so many ways. I hope I can keep up with being on here. I really need to make big changes with our health. We are living on for Ila Jean and we need to do it the healthiest way we can so we can live long lives in her honor. emoticon

Surgery was on May 1st. It's been a long recovery. My body is ready to move and doing pretty good with the walking, but my head and neck are still sore and stiff. I am in a neck brace ( a hard plastic one) so it limits me. I can't turn my head or drive. The up side is it gets me walking more. I can stop wearing th brace on October 1st. Then it's time to get my neck moving again and strengthen those muscles. I am really hoping to get moving quickly and be back to work on or about the 21st. I am a dialysis nurse and I really love and miss my job.

Yeah, things have been tough, but nothing in life is easy and you need to work around the bumps in the road and do the best you can. I can't wait for the hardships I face to go away or get better because they will always be there to one extent or the other. It's all about making your life work with the problems you face. As a recent saying I found goes - "you were given this life because you are strong enough to live it." I've made it my motto. Thanks for checking in on me.
