If you ask my husband he will tell you that I can't go to the grocery store without purchasing something "new" on the market. At least new for our area. I'm sure most of what I pick up thinking is new has more than likely been on the market in other areas for some time. Anyway, I didn't realize how right my husband was until yesterday. I probably go to the store every other day if not every day. This is definitely from my paranoia of over eating. I'm afraid if I have more than is needed in the house, that I'll go crazy and eat everything...has never happened, but you never know! My appetite has really ramped up lately. So, tooling through the store yesterday I happened to catch a glimpse of these bad boys......
Yes, you don't need to blink 20 times. RASPBERRY OREO FUDGE CREMES!! Of course I picked them up...glanced at the nutrition information and tossed them in the cart. Now, I know this is not exactly good practice for a diet, but I have allowed myself a lot of breathing room for a treat and I haven't treated myself in awhile. Three cookies equals 180 calories. Could be worse. My other thought was, with four other people helping to eat them, they will be gone before nightfall.
I'm not sure what I was expecting...wait...yes I do. I was expecting a "normal" Oreo cookie with a Raspberry filling, dipped in fudge...yep...that sounds just perfect to me! Well, what I got was a jacked up version of the Girl Scouts Thin Mint cookie...although good, not what I thought they would be. After dinner I sat them on the table and everyone oohed and aahed (except our 21 yr old son, who claims he doesn't like anything Raspberry. He sure does like those Raspberry filled donuts tho!! ) Anyway, the hubs and the other two kids were ecstatic about them. Me....not so much. Very good but not what I wanted to burn 180 calories on...for just three! So....there's no moral to this story. I guess I just realized how right my husband was about me and my need for new, different and keeping things fresh. It keeps me from getting bored and everything becoming dull. I suppose that is the way it is with exercising and life changes. If they aren't fresh, new and different...they won't hold your attention long and before you know it you will be back to your old boring routine and possibly gaining back all that weight you worked hard to get rid of.
