5% Challenge - Week 7

Thursday, September 12, 2013

Hi fellow Sparkies;
This is a little late but it has been a very busy week. Had a couple of family emergencies which are now under control but it just takes you out of your routine. So for me that meant that I gained 1 pound in the last weigh in. Oh well!!
My niece is doing better and she is back home now, still on medication but gaining her strength. Then we had to drive down to Miami to visit my in-laws because they are experiencing health issues. So we were there to help them out and run errands for them- which they so appreciate. They are in there late 80's and it is hard to be alone and sick so we were there. Then of course I also have mom in the nursing home and I had to visit her, but thank goodness my brother came down to visit and was with her.
So all these things just did not help with my weight-even though I make sure to get at least 30 minutes of walking and keep tracking my food.
Oh and I almost forgot-my DH is changing jobs after 20 years in the same company and this is scary and stressful. It is something that should be for the better but it is still scary.
So let's see what happens and I will continue to work on taking care of myself.
thanks for listening! emoticon m emoticon emoticon emoticon

    Change is always a little scary at first...but then once you settle in you go...WHAT was THAT all about? emoticon I feel for you on elderly relatives. We took my dear little momma into our house when she had Alzheimer's..since we were working we had to take her to 'adult' day care. She always was so sweet and dear..and she seemed to enjoy it. I remember picking her up after a long day at work...and there she was sitting in a chair in the front lobby just counting the minutes till we came.

Makes my eyes water just at the thought of it. It's really weird how we go full circle...from a child to an adult and back to a child again.

Hugs to you and hang in there...your weight will start moving downward once you get back to your routine. emoticon emoticon

    I understand about the elderly and having to help out my Mom was in her late 80's before she passed away 87 to be exact, and was needing more care Luckily my dear Sister took her to her State, I could only visit Mom at her place a Month at a time several times per year but then it got to be needing more, then she went to Assisted living, and unfortunately she had a stroke and died. But as far as the 5% challenge this is my bad week, I will have to wait until later today to weight in I ate late last night !! I'm sure your DH will do just fine on the new job prayers go out to you.
