Back to basics... feeling overwhelmed.

Good Thursday Morning...

I have often have thoughts about how I would like to keep a current blog, you know make entries every day, be this awesome blogger that everyone wants to read... but YEAH NO... I just don't have time for that lol ... so I just need to get over THAT dream! emoticon

This week has been a pretty good Spark living kind of week for me. For the most part I am going back to basics, weighing my foods, loggin in my foods, drinking a ton of water, and getting to the gym more often than not.

Yesterday though I made my lunch and it was just NOT doing it for me so I shoved it aside and then I got way too hungry and made some bad choices.

It happens... Im ok... Today is a NEW DAY!

I need to gather some other options for lunches so that I have some in the freezer at work for those days that what I bring is not "doing" it for me ya know?

I need a Cooking Day at home.

I have SO many things I need to do I kind of feel overwhelmed. My thoughts are to make a list and then schedule in the things I need to do. BUT even THAT is feeling overwhelming.

I gained almost 10 lbs this summer sitting on my porch drinking alcoholic beverages and indulging in delicious not so healthy foods. I thought that was only supposed to happen at Christmas? EEEK!

Anyhow, today is Thursday and the day I get off early at work so... my plan is to eat within my allowed calories, get to the gym, BBQ some Chicken breast for Caesar Salad for dinner, take my youngest to Piano and maybe go swimming with her tonight if she feels like it. (one of those things I need to do... spend more quality time with her)

    Hey Lynn,

I actually do a lot of big batch cooking but have been hard pressed
For time and lazy about it all at the same time these
Past few months and now my schedule is insane up til after
Christmas. I'm thinking the goal this weekend will
Be to finish up my course and then next weekend I can get
Some cooking done cause my Mom is coming iver
and we can do it together I don't barely have time for dinners
Cause I work a ten/11 hour day and then head out to piano, youth groups
Oh yeah and the gym ;-) haha

Today is work till 515, get to piano for 530 and then
The gym while Kaity is in her interact youth group
Till 830..... Phew

    It really helps to have a head start on a nutritious meal. Have you heard of once month cooking? There are lots of free recipes and sites. Basically you go out and buy lots of groceries, come home wash/prep everything and get cooking, then package it up meal size, label and freeze. In the morning you take ie. a bag of cooked frozen rice, container of chili. Dinner time make a salad, slice up some fruit and warm up the rice and chili - a 3 course meal in 10 minutes.

What I do - whenever I cook I make enough food for several meals. ie. rice make enough for 8 meals and package it up in 8 sandwich bags (flattened). Same with chili, etc. It helps to list what you have cooked up so it's easy to find what you want.

    Thinking of today as a new day is a fantastic thing! We all make some little choices we'd rather forget about, and who is going to punish us for an ill chosen lunch? Only ourselves- so why not be the better person and say "Hey- Sure I ate a cheeseburger instead of a salad, or overindulged a bit this summer, but I have lived through that moment, and I'm going to make up for it by moving a bit harder at the gym, no problem"

I'm sorry you have a lot to get done, but I'm sure that you will find time and make everything work in your own way.

    It's so easy to "slip" up when we're not always conscientious about what we're eating or doing, isn't it? I've gained all my weight back from ignoring my health.

Get back to it, sister. Sounds like you're on the right track again, understanding what it takes to make it happen.

Enjoy that Caesar salad...and better yet, how you feel after you've eaten it!
