Well, finally a much needed mental break is here. With the help of a vacation day, I get a 3 day weekend to go camping with friends. And yes, this means a total meltdown of the food program. Although I had planned to scuba dive that is now out the window due to an ear infection. So, plan B is to bring my bike so I can get some riding in. The weather promises to be awesome with lows in the upper 40ís and highs in the mid 70ís. We had figured this would be the last diving in the area for the year for us, but since I canít dive I will get another in soon.
The eating and tracking went well yesterday. Then I got a great workout in on the bike. I took it a nice easy level 12 for the first 30 minutes. Then hit it for 60 seconds on level 25. Then an easy spin for 5 minutes. Then level 24 for 50 seconds. I decreased time and level every 5 minutes till I hit 60. My butt was hurting by the end of that. But it felt good. The calves are sore today, but that is from a combination of doing calf raises on Tuesday and the ride yesterday I am sure.
Tomorrowís workout will be dropping the new truckster off for itís routine service then walking to the gym getting in the new weight workout and then walking back. The calves are going to love that one. Then it will be packing up the truckster and heading to the campground. I plan to also ride for a short time, but not too long. My butt is not in bike seat shape if you know what I mean. Then Saturday I will get a ride in while I go watch my sonís cross country race. I will either ride to the race and have a friend drive, or drive to the race and let my son drive back. One or the other mainly depending on the temps when we need to leave. So we will see.
Sunday another friend is coming up and he will have his bike, so I get company riding. Honestly though, none of these rides will be all that long or all that difficult. I am looking for short rides so I can get the butt in bike seat shape and start to attend spinning classes at least once a week.
So, overall I am feeling much better getting back to the gym a few days in a row. Feels good to be planning out some workout times for the camping trip too. Hopefully the ear feels better enough to dive on Sunday but I am not going to push it. Nor will I worry too much about the diet, but I did step on the scale this morning and have reversed some of the damage so that is encouraging.
