ALL IS GOOD

Thursday, September 12, 2013

HOWDY ALL,

BIG DAY FOR ME YESTERDAY. SEPT 11 HAS A DIFFERENT MEANING TO ME THAM 9/11 DOES. I GRIEVE WITH THE REST OF THE COUNTRY AND MUCH OF THE WORLD FOR THE LIVES LOST. I PRAY GOD GIVES THE STRENGTH TO THE FAMILIES TO LIVE THROUGH ANOTHER DAY OF SAD MEMORIES.

SEPT 11, 1978 IS THE DAY I GAVE UP ALCOHOL AND DRUGS. SO FOR ME, THE DAY IS ALSO A REMEMBERANCE FOR ME OF A MIRACLE HAPPENING.

REGARDING MY CALORIE INTAKE: I HAVE READ MANY TIMES IN THE SPARKS READINGS THAT THEY FIGURE YOU ARE UP AND ABOUT BURNING CALORIES IN EVERYDAY LIVING. HOUSECLEAN, GROCERY SHOPPING, WASHING THE CAR, ETC. IN MY CASE I AM A COUCH POTATO WITH A PERSONAL CAREGIVER THAT DOES EVERYTHING BUT CHEW MY FOOD FOR ME.

THEREFORE I AM NOW DOING MORE FOR MYSELF AND GETTING OUT OF THE HOTEL EVERYDAY. I HAVE AT LEAST 4 A.A. MEETING AVAILABLE TO ME EVERY WEEK THAT I CAN ATTEND. AND THERE ARE MANY THINGS TO DO AND SEE HERE IN CEBU. MEMORIALS, MUSEUMS AND LIBRARIES. ALSO THE RED LIGHT DISTRICT BUT NOT REALLY INTERESTED IN THAT SORT OF THING ANY MORE.

I MAY HAVE OVERDONE IT ON THE EXERCISING TODAY. I DID NOT PLAN IT SO, I JUST GOT IN THE GROOVE AND DIDN'T WANT TO STOP. ENDED UP WITH OVER 2 HOURS TODAY, AND FEEL GREAT RIGHT NOW. PROBABLY THE ENDORPHINS RUNNING WILD.

THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR THE FEEDBACK AND COMMENTS. HAD SOME REAL HELPFUL ONES RECENTLY.

emoticon I'm a big fan of sobriety celebrations!
I love how one-day-at-a-time adds up.

Congrats on being off alcohol/drugs! I stopped alcohol when I was 28 and am 54 now. Didn't note the day but it was in the summer time. New lease on life!

Glad you enjoyed your exercise and continue to try to move more and not be a lump on a log. No transport here so out and doing just means yard work, or house work. I am getting burn out so need to rethink what I'm doing. Museums sound like a lot of fun!

    Congratulations on your recovery :)
I have a son who is addicted to drugs & alcohol & I can't wait until he can say he gave them up for good.
