Lots of colors to brighten ones day

Thursday, September 12, 2013

One of my favorite plants. I love the deep red.

A Bee out in the front yard finding colorful flowers.

A few of my Roses

We have about 5 Sunflowers left. I found a Skipper on this one.

Henley the Hero was giving me moral support

I found this little one on the ground by the Finch feed sock.

Some Gold Finch were eating out of their sock.

While other Finches were eating the Sunflower seeds.

Does anyone know what type of Moth this is? I couldn't find the name of it.

The birds were getting ready for the sunset.

About 7:30pm, the Moon and Venus

Moon at 8pm. I almost expected to see a Fairy sitting on the Moon, throwing Fairy Dust.

Have a good Thursday!

Would that moth be the Speranzia pustularia? Was it tiny,,like an inch or so, white with rusty lines?

I looked on Butterflies and Moths of North America and may have found your moth - Codatractus alcaeus
That site has tons of pictures. Enjoyed seeing the birds and Henley and the moon shots are fantastic. My sunflowers are pretty much done, too. The birds and squirrels have more or less feasted away all the seeds.
It is pouring rain with lots of flash flood warnings on the front range in Colorado today, so I loved seeing your roses and some sunshine. Thanks.

That first one is sure a beauty! Love all your flowers and birds! Wonderful, handsome Henley!! Gotta love that face!!! Those ears!!! What character!!
The moth.......sphinx?? I think, maybe.
You always get such beautiful shots of the moon and with venus.......breath-taking!!!
Hope you are having a great Thursday, too!! I dragged my DS out for a walk this morning and I tried doing a few sprints. Want to try to learn to do a bit of running so I can do a 5K run/walk with my DD in October. It was borderline too warm about half way through, so the last quarter mile was all walk, but it's going to take some time and I'm not so sure I have enough of that at this point to be ready to do it! Time & practice will tell, I suppose!
Stay cool and happy!!! Love to all the critters!! (((HUGS)))

I have not got a book on moths Jeanne so no idea. that red flower stand out well and you are getting the birds back, none here.

The roses this side of the pond did not come anything this year so it is nice to see yours.

Near the weekend yet again, so have a good one.
