I would like to start today's post off by telling you how beautiful the Rockies look from my son's back yard.
I would like to say that but I cannot because it has been raining since I go here.
No one's fault. And yet oddly enough everyone wants to apologize for the bad weather. Stop apologizing. "Sorry it's raining for you visit." How about, "Gee it's too bad it's raining for your visit."
One of the reasons I came so early was to be here for Dave and Carolyn's third anniversary so they could go out to dinner. Carolyn and I hung out at the house all day and watched the rain. At one point it looked like the sky was going to clear. I needed a haircut, Carolyn wanted to get one too. So we walked to Supercuts and then Colin and I went to Walmart for a stroll around. That way mom could get her hair done and I would get in some walking. Then it was my turn and we headed for home.
Just in time for it to start raining.
But I was smart. I grabbed a couple of $4 ponchos at Walmart. Just in case.
When we got home, I played with Colin for a while, until about 5:00 then I drove to the YMCA. By then the rain was light but steady. I did my hour and when I looked outside I thought I was in Florida! The rain was coming down like a cow peeing on a flat rock.
And you can tell that Denver is not a high rain area. So few storm drains that the street were running like a river.
Tonight my phone has been buzzing constantly with flash flood warning.
But at least I got my walk in and I got my hour at the YMCA in. So I am doing pretty well on this trip.
A couple of picture of Colin that I took today:
I am practicing a technique I read in Scott Kelby's book about digital photography. They came out just as I wanted them to. Yay!
