I'm only happy when it rains...

Wednesday, September 11, 2013

The weather pulled a sneak attack on me today. It was hot, then we had a thunderstorm and it cooled off dramatically. Since it was now cool and pleasant, I decided we would go out for a while. And what happened? BAIT AND SWITCH! It was hotter than the 9th circle of hell out there! I guess all the storm accomplished was making it more humid, to go with the 90 degree heat. I'm not built for this crap!

So my newly-declared-genius friend came up with the idea of making a calendar with big red Xs or stickers for every day, depending on whether or not I make it through the night without eating. I thought that was a fabulous idea! Who doesn't love stickers?!? I decided I also wanted one for working out. So I printed out 2 calendars and sent Jeff into Dollar Tree to pick out stickers. He chose them, and he gives them to me when I earn them, so every sticker is a super secret surprise! {My inner 5 year old really likes it when I cater to her.} Here is a picture of my set up. The top one is my not-eating-at-night calendar, which has a sticker... and the bottom one is my exercise calendar which does not have a sticker {yet!}.

That was pretty much my accomplishment of the day. Everything has gone well, nothing really to complain about. I stayed on track, even with a Frappuccino and fast food {Grilled chicken samich and chili!} thrown into the mix. Lots of produce, lots of water. Also, my carb percentage is where it should be, which is very difficult for me. I'm usually way over on carbs. But I know I need to keep them under control for my diabetes. I'm not going low carb, I would die... but I at least need to keep them in the right range. So that happened.

Also, today was my second day of tracking, and it turned out well. I am about middle of my range today, which I can live with. I would have been low in my range if I hadn't had the Frappuccino... but it was mostly milk. Calcium is good for me. Right? RIGHT!

Now I'm sitting here nursing a pounding headache. I don't know where it came from, but I wish it would go back there. I took some Aleve and now I must wait for it to kick in. Until then, I'm going to lay down and pout. I hope everyone has had a good day!

Headaches are no fun! Looks like you had a good day. I pay myself $1 for every day I stay within my calorie range and $1 for every day I work out. Can't say I've been earning much lately. Couldn't sleep so I did get up early and walk before school. Keep up the streak!
