Wanting Peace; Needing Rest

I ran at the Y today, doing my 3 min run/1 min walk intervals of 5.8mph and 3.8mph, going about 5 miles. I felt strong and healthy during my run and it didn't seem difficult. I stretched, showered, and came home and ate. But now I feel really tired. Not sure if it is a recovery issue. Actually, I think it is because I slept rather poorly last night. I'll try to get rested and pay better attention to how I feel after each of next week's runs. I don't run again now until Saturday at 5:30am when it is an 11 mile group outing along the path of the upcoming Lakeland Half Marathon.

Tonight we have our monthly local SparkTeam dinner. I look forward to them so much. It's great to have a special event mid-week. Special thanks to Cyndi for all she does to organize and keep our team going!!

Wishing all my SparkFriends peace on this day we remember too well.

    I tried these intervals today, and was able to go for 3 miles only. I hope in a month or so I will be able to go 5 miles. emoticon

    I am an expert at a lack of sleep, and it sure does affect performance and recovery. Hope you get a sound one tonight!
I too, am jealous you can get together with a group of Spark friends! The only way that would happen for me is if they all got together at a convention!!

    I have experienced some feeling drained after workouts and wonder if I'm doing too much. You may need some more rest days built into your routine.

Take the hint and relax a little bit. A bad nights sleep can make a mess of my running but it sounds like you did great! Enjoy the group run on Saturday. I would love to have a group to run with. I have looked in my area but there is nothing within an hours drive from me.
