Where Were YOU?

I posted this to my Facebook page this morning. I'm going to use it as my blog today.
Sept 11, 2001 Where were you? -
I was at home in Las Vegas talking to my mom via ICQ when she told me my niece had just messaged her that one of the World Trade Towers was burning. I turned on the TV in time to see the second plane impact the second tower. After a min or so to absorbed what I had just seen, I called Chuck at work. He was with the Oregon Air National Guards. I told him to turn on the radio there at work. After talking for a few mins, I called a friend in NYC, who wasn't far from the Towers. Not really knowing what to do, I went ahead and went to work. By the time I got there, the skies of Las Vegas were empty. At work, we were given the option to stay or go home. I chose to stay. I didn't want to be home alone at that moment and Chuck couldn't come home. We gathered in small groups throughout the day at work, talking quietly and trying to stay informed. When I did head home...I had to drive by the airport. I will never forget seeing all the planes parked on the tarmac, nothing moving..it was ghostly. There were few cars on the streets. So not like Las Vegas. I think that will stay with me the longest..the images of all those planes..just setting there, a sign that even 3000 miles from Ground Zero, what had happened on that bright, sunny day in Sept was personal to even me. Now 12 yrs later...we can't forget the sacrifices of those that we lost that day and every day since to protect the USA and our rights as Americans. Thank You to all the First Responders and our Military men and women.
So where were you?
