I'm taking a moment just to remember the tragedy that struck us on 9/11. Taking a moment to send a prayer of remembrance for those poor souls who were caught up in the madness and for their families, whose lives were forever changed, to heal from their losses. Today truly is a day to reflect as the craziness continues. May the USA learn from history and make wise decisions.
And then, it's back to my daily life, with gratefulness for the gentle day I've been granted. After weeks of above normal heat, we're enjoying rain and a wonderful drop in temperatures here. This morning my DH and I took our dog AND a canine house guest for a walk in a mist, the humans dressed in rain jackets and baseball caps while the canines relied on their lovely ability to do a rolling shake from the tip of their noses to their tails every so often to keep themselves comfortable.
We were only out for 35 minutes so I'm going to need to do something extra today to make up for the shortened walk.
Last night celebrated a birthday with a friend at an Indian restaurant. I hadn't had Indian food forever and it tasted great. We were early at the restaurant so there was no wait, it felt like fall in the air, and they had a sitar player performing quietly. What a nice evening. Good friends make all the difference, don't they? Chose the Tandoori chicken which is a pretty reasonable dish as far as calories go...and yes, I looked that up BEFORE I went to the restaurant. Personal victory. But then I almost finished two glasses of wine and the plan was for one. I crumbled there so easily!
I was going to report how my daily calorie deficit was going but I forgot to look it up. I may add that to this post in a moment! Have a great day, everyone!
OK, I'm back. Here's my calorie differential report for this week so far:
Good start to the week!
