Love the way that you illustrated your blog Sheryl!!! I also love Woubbie's Wikipedia description of Mallomars! I'm not a big marshmallow fan - unless they are S'mores - so I don't think I ever had one! Good for you in not buying it yet!

I don't know if I've ever had a Mallowmar - I'm a virgin - blush. Now would not be a good time for me to lose my virginity. LOL. They don't look that good to me. I was tempted by the new ovestuffed Oreos yesterday though and avoided them. I miss them now. LOL.

    I've never had one.
It's dark chocolate? Is the cookie good? Is the marshmello a real marshmello or something else?
I'm too picky to get caught in the hype.

I love anything with marshmallow and chocolate. Where are they tell me now or I will hold your children hostage until you do. Just kidding. I pat myself on the back everytime I go down the cookie aisle and walk past a similar cookie. They are $4.99 though and that helps. My new weakness, Magnum ice cream bars, can't have them in the house, I will devour them. I think of that M&M commercial where they introduce the red M&M to Chrissy who will devour him. Warning: If you haven't tried them DON"T I still haven't forgiven my Mom for giving me one.

    From Wikipedia: Mallomars

In the United States, Mallomars are produced by Nabisco.[19] A graham cracker circle is covered with a puff of extruded marshmallow, then enrobed in dark chocolate, which forms a hard shell. Mallomars were introduced to the public in 1913, the same year as the Moon Pie (a confection which has similar ingredients). The first box of Mallomars was sold in West Hoboken, New Jersey (now Union City, New Jersey).[20]

Mallomars are generally available from early October through to April. They are not distributed during the summer months, supposedly because they melt easily in summer temperatures, though this is as much for marketing reasons as for practical ones.[21] Devoted eaters of the cookie have been known to stock up during winter months and keep them refrigerated over the summer, although Nabisco markets other fudge-coated cookie brands year-round. Seventy percent of all Mallomars are sold in metropolitan New York.[citation needed] The issue of Nabisco's choice to release Mallomars seasonally became a parodied topic on a sketch delivered by graphic artist Pierre Bernard on Late Night with Conan O'Brien.[episode needed]

These wouldn't tempt me at all... Remind me too much of Little Debbie's.

Are they something that melts badly in the heat? If yes, they may not sell them in the summer. There's a little chocolate cube called Ice Cubes. They are so soft and melty that when I was younger I remember stores would not sell them in the summer because they couldn't be transported in the summer. They would need to be transported in refrigerated trucks and go into a store with air conditioning.

As far as I know, I have never had a Mallomars. I do have a good memory and remember so many times that something looked SO GOOD but when I ate it I was SO DISAPPOINTED.

That is the way I can talk myself out of another disappointment.

You are so funny! I know exactly what you mean! I, too, fall for the hype. Store bought cookies aren't that good. Really.

Could they mean football season? And why would Mallomars be part of that?
