My daily internal pep talk

No quotes today.
I thought I'd share with you how I get up and exercise every day (officially 5 days a week).

I have learned to say this to myself as I get ready to exercise:
"Wow! I'm so lucky to be able to get up and do this every day.
There are some people who can't move and sweat like this.
Let's do this for me and in their honor."

    Yes! I do the positive pep talk first thing too. Along the lines of dismissing any excises and saying to myself that I feel SOOOOOO much better when I've exercised my body! Not willing to go back to where I came from, that's for sure!

    I was one of those people you're talking about. emoticon

I really am lucky to be able to do it. A year ago, I couldn't. So, I think about how much pain I was in, how I couldn't do anything at all (even get into bed) without a lot of pain, and how I felt helpless. Exercise gave me my life back, pretty literally. I'm grateful that it isn't so hard any more. I still have health issues that I have to take into account, but I feel like a person again. When I don't feel like walking or going to the gym, I think about where that landed me the first time.

I have not yet made exercise a habit like you have, but I do tell myself, "You are able to walk, so get out there and do it!" I ignore the cracks and pops and stiffness and realize I AM ABLE and very VERY blessed!

Thank you for doing this in the honor of those who can't. I'll add that to my list!
