The Bad, and the Good

Tuesday, September 10, 2013

I'm having an odd week of great expectations and horrible news. I learned this week that I have cancer again, this time in the uterus. I'll be seeing the oncologist in early October, then hysterectomy, and we go from there (depending on what the path report says).

But life goes on, and I refuse to let this get me down. I'm fulfilling one of my bucket list items over the next three weeks. DH and I are going to visit the Shenandoah Valley, National Park and all that entails, and then going to Historic Williamsburg (staying in a tavern in the middle of the historic town).

I've never been to Virginia (aside from driving through), and I've been wanting to visit these particular places since I was a little girl. The more I check things out on the Internet, the more addicted I become to looking further. There is SO MUCH to see and do!

The time has finally come! I bought a camera for the trip, and expect to take lots and lots of pics. Don't expect to see them right away, though, as we will be totally technology free except for our cellphones. So no posting on the go for me!

We are both really so excited!

Well, it has not come on overnight... so maybe explains your ongoing fatigue and fingers crossed the hysterectomy actually makes you feel better. It sure made ME feel better. I almost was hoping for this diagnosis so they would DO something for you. On the other hand, no. Would not wish it on anyone. You know where I am if you need some time away or a big hug.

As for Virginia... what is their license plate moto? "Virginia is for Lovers" I think. Seems appropriate! I really enjoyed Virgina.. "y'all come back now" from so many kind people seemed so welcoming. Pretty country. Yup, lots of history and houses with lots of trim. I'm sure you will have a great time and have albums of pictures to show off.

All good here. Into guest mode with some guests right now who are in the business. No pressure, hehehe. They do like to eat. I put out the week's worth of cookies and they were all gone in ten minutes... which was less than an hour after I had served them appetisers, a large dinner and dessert. Hmmm. I used to be one of those people so it is a memory from my past. They have their own issues and I know what it is like to want to eat over them. My job is not to judge, just do my best to make sure their time here goes without a glitch.

And... because everthing is all about me... you sick people have to get better. My attitude of gratitude is being flattenend when I think about you and several other people who are very important to me who are also having some pretty bad stuff happening (current guests included). This bad stuff could at least be spread around so we could all have just a little and make is more even, don't you think? Sigh. On the other hand, life is good. We had a wonderful 3 weeks away in BC, youngest DD is successfully planted at University for her last year. Middlest DD found an on line transcibing job for TV shows that she is working away at. Eldest DD had a good week at camp and seems to have found a gaming group in Perth that I think we will check out. Perth could be our someday retirement destination... who knows?

Ah... guests are up so I'll chat with you later! Love you very much my Dear, Justyna
