Hey guys,

Thanks for all the support and suggestions and questions.

I DO have a detailed planned for my weight loss challenge but didn't bother putting it up because I didn't want to bore everyone with the details.

For the first 3 weeks I aimed for 1-2 hours of cardio MOST days with a goal of burning at least 500 cals. If it were a busy day, I quickly/intensely worked out and stopped around 500 cals.

My general plan for the next month is :

5-6 days of cardio burning at least 400 calories each day. (Usually I burn 600-1000 )
I am doing strength training 2-3 days a week
And working on flexibility/yoga: 2 times a week
Diet: I am eating between 1400-1800 calories a day depending on activity.

I work 24 hour call one day a week so I have to be lenient with the exact number of days.

And at the end of the year I will be HEALTHIER regardless of how much I weigh. So go me! And the plan will change each month depending on how the previous month went.


Oh and, Hawaii in NOVEMBER so that's incentive! I haven't been since I was 19! :-D

    Thanks for the input everyone! I tried to make it clear that I am ok with not quite reaching the goal. I am aiming high and attempting to reach my goal. My spirits aren't easily broken, so if I don't get there no biggie.

and I probably do 5 days of cardio now so that's no big diff. The calorie counting and strength will be the changes :)

  If you can keep up with that much, than super. it sounds rather intense and difficult.

If you feel great and can maintain this high level, than it most be a good plan for you.

Your sure ambitious.

I guess the only part that sounds tough is doing this amount of cardio, that many days.
You must be in amazing shape. If not now, you most certainly will be.

    You have a good attitude. I hope you can do what you want, but 40 pound sin 16 weeks is very ambitious. It's about 2.5 pounds per week. The recommended rate is 0.5 to 2 pounds a week. Do what you can to make your goal, but understand that it may be a high.

And please know, I am not a negative ninny. I am a realist. I did lose 50 pounds in six months so big numbers are not impossible, but they are hard to attain.
