No exercise - or good exercise?

I really didn't expect to be writing this when I got up this morning. I anticipated it would be a no exercise day. Far too much to do and deadlines to meet. Instead - I've walked my feet off emoticon

Not one - but FOUR serious walks.

That actually sounds better than it was, but I have had four walks today.

First thing this morning I realised that I had a busy afternoon, and that if I didn't do something NOW I wouldn't have time for anything. So, on with shoes and off I dashed for the quickest of circuits, but enough for me to know that I had done something.

Home, and on with some business. We had several deadlines - and the first was by lunchtime. We both worked really hard and consequently ALL were reached by lunchtime! Such a relief, it meant I could sit down and enjoy ......

Next on the agenda was meeting our grandson from school. It's a distance of almost 3 miles away, and now that our deadlines had disappeared I realised that we had a new option. We always take the car in case of emergencies, but in the nick of time I noticed that if I hurried I could walk there - and Grandad could follow by car. So that's what happened.

Instead of woodland walks this one was definitely urban

Negotiating traffic and keeping an eye on the time - I did it! The final 300 metres is up a really steep hill, but I arrived at exactly the right moment, and so did Grandad - so we all walked back to the car together.

I did get my woodland 'fix', though, because then we took grandson to some other local ones and walked a bit more

After a while we indulged in a hot drink, and then it was time for my walk number four to get us back home

This walk took a route that has two levels. I had made enough 'effort' for one day, so stayed firmly on the bottom level - but if you look closely at the above you will get a glimpse of two bodies making their way through the undergrowth. It was a fun exercise. It was a cool day today and perfect for exercise.

I still can't really believe how far I've come in such a short time. If you are just taking your first baby steps with exercise, please be encouraged. If I can do it - SO CAN YOU!

Onwards and Upwards.

    emoticon But you need to keep those feet in good shape for the 5K on Thursday. Sounds like a busy day, but a very productive day! The best kind. Loved the pictures-we never get to see your "urban areas". Was interested that you have what looks like asphalt instead of cement for sidewalks and what are the lines on them?

    Exercise energises you, so you are more alert and actually do more. Proud of you. emoticon do you remember I said I had listened to Bill Shankleys biography? I just realised the song could be your theme tune ' Walk on, walk on......and you'll never walk alone.
