I love the first day of school. A fresh start, new things to learn... a new season, even if I'm not the one going to school. This morning went as well as I'd hoped/visualized. I woke up early for coffee with DH, got right into PT gear set out the night before, and everyone got out the door without yelling. The best part was following them out the door and going right to the gym. The exercise routine I'd been thinking about trying for the month will be perfect. I need some guidance on a couple of machines, but overall, my week of low pressure "equipment orientation week" worked well. Now I am ready to make deliberate, trackable progress in developing the habit of healthy living.
I appreciate the encouragement and comments of my Sparkfriends, and was inspired to read message boards and posts about starting over, again. My takeaway is that if I live right, the rest will take care of itself. Using structured fitness and deliberate meal planning for now builds up patterns and expectations for a new normal that others call a healthy fit lifestyle.
Food was a challenge to day, was hungry alot, but either drank water or started an activity. Not optimal, but I managed. I need to do some meal planning/shopping, and make sure I eat enough but the big emphasis this month is the habit of exercise on a daily basis.
