SP and out of town trips

Monday, September 09, 2013

Well, I had to go to my physical office last week for training on our new software and boy was it hard. Staying in a hotel and eating out was very difficult. I did have salad every day for lunch and dinner and ate a healthy breakfast, but my snacks were non-existent and it was really hard to keep up with my water. I only walked the first day because I was so busy after that it was impossible to fit it in. I was going to try to workout at the hotel but their gym did not open until 6:30 and that was too late for me. I gained five pounds this last week. Although I was very disappointed I will not give up and I am walking again, made it up to 10,000 steps on my morning walk this week and so now I will just focus on increasing the speed that I walk those steps. It really helped me to see how important some things are like the water, snacks and daily exercise. When I follow those things it works. At first I was really having a hard time with my schedule being out of wack but than I realized that the stress was not going to help my situation and so I just did the best I could given the circumstances. I do feel encouraged though since I got home and I am sure that I will be able to get the 5lbs off and than some in now time. I really missed SP too, it was hard to find the time to even log in everyday and I had such a hard time tracking my food while there. So glad to be home and getting back into my routine!

i HOPE YOU FIND TIME TO WRITE BLOGS AGAIN! I appreciate your encouraging words, but don't know how to encourage you very well.

I hope you were able to get back on track, as you explained in this blog. It's easy to slip away though when our routine is broken!

I had the same problem back in April when I went out of town. I regained weight and it broke my will to continue for awhile. Now I think I am on the right track, with so many wonderful encouragers around.

Best luck in your walking.
Glad you joined our team today.

Hope those 5 pounds disappeared as quickly as they appeared! 5 pounds is alot in 1 week, so I feel it had to be water retention and stress weight! I find it hard to track and even stay on track as well as you did when travelling and/or under stress! Keep up the good work and it will all fall back into place!

Travelling can really send you for a loop and hotel/restaurant food always seems to have something in it that just holds onto the weight, probably salt or MSG. Glad you are back and have learned something about your program. That is an important step now you know that water, snacks, and exercise make a big difference to you. Have a better month. emoticon

It is always nice to come back home and get back in the routine we had before we go some place. How is every thing else coming?

You certainly learned a lot about getting and staying healthy while you were at your training. That's a good thing. I hope the process of getting back to routine goes smoothly!
