Feeling fruity...

Since my health/diabetes "bible" recommends 3 servings of fruit, and I was almost entirely out of fruit, we headed out to the store to pick some up. I got fresh raspberries, melon, Asian pear, pluot and a peacharine. I also got single serving size cups of frozen blueberries, in case I run out of fruit between store visits.

As I mentioned earlier, dinner turned out fabulously! A friend gave me the recipe for cabbage lasagne. She said she made it and it was amazing, and her sister concurred. I was definitely skeptical, but I figured... welp, if I eat real lasagne, I can have like a 2" square piece... so maybe I should give this whole cabbage-as-noodles thing a whirl. Surprisingly, it was really good. So that was a total success!

I got in 6 servings of veggies and 3 servings of fruit today. And 10 cups of water. So I have met all my goals for the day. I accomplished everything I set out to do, and that's a pretty good feeling!

Tomorrow is going to be less-awesome. I have therapy. In the event someone isn't aware of this yet... I. Hate. Therapy. I go because I have virtually no choice. But I loathe every second of it, and it rains on my whole day. I'll make it as good as possible, though, by making sensible food choices. Must remember -- eating a half ton of food will not make therapy suck any less. It will just make me look even crazier cause I'm eating myself to death.

Now I'm going to lay down and nurse a headache and wait for bedtime.

    That cabbage lasagna sounds wonderful! I gotta try it!

Boo on the bad therapy, hope you get a better doc because therapy isn't supposed to make you feel worse leaving then going on.

I've been there, there's an overabundance of idiot counselors, doctors and quacks that have done more harm than good. But when you find the right one, it's awesome and worth going through all the morons! Good luck Honey!

    I hate therapy too. I've been going this year for couples counselling and it is no fun. But it is helping. I just hate that it brings up stuff again. But better it comes up in a controlled environment than just bubbling too the surface at random moments where it does extreme damage...

And, on a happier note...thanks for sharing the recipe for cabbage lasagna, I'd love to be able to eat lasagna again!

    Oh wow, I've never heard of cabbage lasagna, but it sounds good and much lower in calories. You did a totally awesome job on your freggies (fruit and veggies) and water today, Yippeee!! I hope your therapy will be better than you think. Don't let it wreck your day or mess up the progress you have made. You are doing so good!!

    Sounds like you are going great incorporating more fresh/whole foods. They cleaner you eat will have such amazing results. Just wait until you start seeing beautiful glowing skin in the mirror and feeling a little more pep in your step! emoticon

But, be forewarned if your just implementing this more fruit and veggies plan...they will help detox the free radicals out of you which may make you feel like butt a day or two. But, it's just making you healthier!
