I've been Paleo for about six months (with occasional cheating for frozen yogurt and hoppy beers), but I am giving it up. I have a lot to thank the paleo diet for. It gave me guidelines, which I kind of needed because, let's face it, I wasn't going to set limits for myself. I made me look at labels and be more conscious about the additives in foods. I lost a lot of weight too: about 22 lbs this summer.
Right now I lose about 1 lb every five days, which I'm very happy with, and I feel better and less tired than I have in ages. The thing is that I've been eating less and less meat as I learn more about the health issues associated with animal proteins. So I've changed my diet again and evolved with new knowledge. No dairy (except for my frozen yogurt), no red meat, and no processed food but now I'm getting back into brown rice and legumes, which were off limits with paleo.
I just started this new plant based diet today, so let's see how I feel by next week!
