Life changes

Monday, September 09, 2013

I moved back in with my sister on the island. I'm deeply grateful that I got that sister. She's been so supportive of all my trials, including moving to the city and moving back here last week.
I loved living in the city and there are things I'll miss, like the few little minutes it took me to get everywhere, but it's too unstable especially if you can't afford an apartment on your own. Even then, the landlords have a bad habit of significantly raising the rents every year.
I'm happier than I thought I would be coming back. I've been relying on public transportation and my bike, but now that the rainy season is approaching, I'm going to get a car. That will make life easier since I live at the far end of the island. This darn rock is so hilly, it takes me over an hour to get 10 miles on my bike. Sure, I might be able to crack a nut between my knee muscles, but I can do without that much wear and tear.
I'm also happy to report that I'm down to 150 pounds! That's a total loss of 48 pounds since I started Sparking 3 years ago. More significantly, I've been keeping off the weight because I have plenty of practice stopping binges and recovering from binges faster, along with improving my eating habits for the long haul. Patience and practice are easier said than done, but it's worth not giving up on. WE are worth not giving up on.
My HIIT trainer signed me up for an 8 week Introductory Fitness Trainer class because she was hoping I'd be interested because she thinks I'd be great at it, she said. I honestly don't know, which is why I'm glad the YMCA offers this Introductory class. I love exercise and I'd love to lead others, plus I loved my anatomy and physiology classes in school so that'll be great. But it's the business part of it that I'm not sure I'd love - advertising and recruiting students and I don't even know what else. We'll see. Maybe I'll love it and eventually get paid to work out!
I hope you're all doing well and feeling great!

    Things are looking good Sharon
Make yourself an accountability chart.
It is easy for me to do blogging every day. You have a long commute now so the chart will keep you on track. I might just be asking you how many days you were able to do it.(HUGS)

No stress! When you fall, you just have to climb right back. HUGS and so much love Pat in Maine.
Great job on all those pounds gone. Excellent job !
Even better job accomplishing so much more. You are the emoticon

I think you will do good in any place just why not be happier with sis?

Good call!

150 is a nice weight and I bet you looking good still,

You got a lot of muscle and it will have you weighing a bit more too.

Your final goal may need slight alterations but

I think your wonderful just as you are!

emoticon Let's hear it for loved ones who are always there for us!
I know you loved things about living in the city, and I'm sorry it didn't work out for you to stay there; but if/when you get a car, the commute shouldn't been a big problem - plus you'll be out of the rain. Wishing you the best of luck in finding "the" right car for you.

So you don't want to be hired out to crack nuts between your knees. emoticon Ok, you're entitled to be and do what you want - go for whatever that is! And if being a Fitness Trainer is part of that, more power to ya.

Congratulations on the 48 pounds lost and many more congrats on working on the binges and recovery from same. I'm very proud of you, and you inspire me to keep on keeping on. Some day I'll be able to say I've lost 48 pounds (or so); even tho' I'm no where near that yet.
