Did a huge workout at the pools. I am not sure I believe the fitness tracker when it tells me how many calories I burnt. I burn less doing my gym workout over an hour (and I am puffed) than the 45 min of swimming I did tonight - which seemed a bit less effort...although I was puffed too. Certainly feel it today. Hope the shock to my system of having changed up my workout routine will reap benefits on the weightloss!
It seems almost too good to be true...if only I could afford the pools more often lol.
Food wise going well and starting to find some days I am under my limit and need to add something else to get to 1200 cals. A month ago it was a struggle to get under 1500 cals a day. So victory there.
I have also discovered that my body loses in spurts, rather than little bits steadily. I work and work at it for a couple of weeks and nothing happens and then all of a sudden I get very tired and very hungry for a few days and at the end of that week I am down a kilo or 2 (about 5 pounds). So that is gratifying. I hope to be under 160 kg by the end of the month and also to have added another 3 minutes to each boxing session on my workout (6 minutes total extra per workout). That seems to be the biggest calorie burner on my program so I will up that one ( also because it is my favourite part) lol. Who would have thought meek and mild little me would be such a fighter internally and externally! Go me!
To everyone who is struggling to get to terms with the food and the exercise regularity, just keep at it. I am proof that slow and steady wins in the end. I have also found what makes it easier is not to focus on food too much..I mean we have to count calories etc, but I have eaten the same thing for breakfast for the last 3 months. It makes the routine much easier and not having to think about what to have. Also when I track my breakfast calories I track my lunch and dinner ones and that way I know what I am eating for the day and if I have extra calories left for a cookie at afternoon tea. I also know if I can't have any extras. It seems to be working for me. I also have a Friday night special movie and meal family night and that is a meal from whatever country we are studying for schoolwork - home made of course and healthy change up where I can. If I go over calories a bit on that day I don't fuss too much.
Slow and steady wins. Find a routine and what works for you and stick to it. Its not forever, and doesn't mean you can't have some fun while you are doing it. And in the words of one of my favourite workout songs - The Fighter (Gym Class Heroes):
"If you fall pick yourself up off the floor (get up)
And when your bones can't take no more (c'mon)
Just remember what you're here for"
