Today's card is the Meerkat: Get support from a trusted group of like-minded friends

You have a lot on your plate. You deal with things every day that not everyone deals with, and sometimes you need to talk about it; discuss it with someone who will not judge you and knows exactly what you are talking about. It's not always easy to find someone who 'gets' you like that, so when you find the ones that you can talk to easily, the ones who understand what you aren't saying, hold on to them tightly. They are the true treasures in life.

You also need to remember that, in order to keep yourself healthy, you must release the toxins in your body....and in your mind. That includes talking about what is bothering you. You are NOT a superhero, you are NOT infallible and you are NOT indestructible, either. You are a kind, sensitive, loving and humble individual who does not like feeling like they are 'unloading' on someone. You have a support system right like no other you've ever had in your life. You can not only 'unload' without being labelled a whiner or complainer, but you can help others merely by sharing your own story.

So remember that you DO have the support system in place to help you through the days ahead, whether they are good ones or bad ones, all you have to do is turn to them when you need them and stop bottling everything up inside. The only thing that should be bottled is a good bottle of wine (or any good alcohol for that matter), problems are made to be shared, discussed and worked through. It'll do a body good to talk it out once in awhile.


I KNOW I have great support here and I'm going to start using it again. I got back from camping yesterday, today I weighed myself and planned some meals and I am going back to tracking EVERYTHING! please feel free to check my tracker and to nag me...I really need to move forward.

    Something I have done lately is PAY ATTENTION while eating. Not every time, of course, but more than I usually do. I so often eat mindlessly, while doing other things, barely paying attention to the fact that I am eating so no wonder I am often unsatisfied after meals. I am happy to provide you any support I can, Miss Jan. I am thinking of you, my dear.

    Great blog! You are so very correct. I don't always blog, but when I do...I get outstanding support from my Spark friends and from Spark friends to be. There is an awesome bunch of people on here, a support system like this is difficult to find, regardless of how much it could cost!

If I have said it once, I have said it (to myself mostly) a million times! Put the cookie down and back away! I was just talking with a coworker on our lunchtime walk about the power of food logging. I did not log at all last week, the first week off in about 3 years. I ate so much more, was satisfied less and the scale asked me to GET OFF, apparently I was hurting it!

We are all here for you, let's do this!
