I love humor. I love comedy. I love joking around (when I'm in the mood, and sometimes I'm definitely not.)
I was talking to a friend the other day; the friend had encouraged me to take a certain risk, and I took it. I haven't found out the results yet, but I'm so pleased I took the risk.
I said to my friend, "It's all your fault!" She said, "No, no, (and then I can't remember what she said."
She's a great lady whose friendship I value.
I backtracked and said, "I was just joking. It's totally my responsibility that I . . . "
LESSON: Just . . . to be sensitive to others in what I say! I get hurt SO easily by others' words, and yet I have this expectation that anything I say should be okay since it's said in good will or good fun. But that's not the way it works . . . I am responsible for what I say and I want to think for JUST A SECOND before I speak. If I'm not sure how I myself would feel on the receiving end of a comment, best to hold off.
