Chipper front yard

Monday, September 09, 2013

The birds are so chipper in the morning. I noticed they have been eating a bit more. They line our fence.

There were 3 Scrub Jays in our yard, but I could only get pictures of one of them.

One of my Portulaca plants.

Sarge is getting ready for his walk.

DH and I drove over by the small pond. I spotted Mallards this time. There was an adult female, and 3 young ones. That put a smile on my face.

What a cutie!

Blue Heron was there again.

Killdeer

The Grebe is still there. I wonder where its mate is?

Pigeon was thirsty.

Looking at the San Bernardino Mountains.

My side of town. Not one cloud.

Time to call it a day.

Have a good Monday!

Love the pictures of your flora & fauna & feathers! Yesterday morning we had a small Cooper's hawk in our yard so no birds at our bird feeder.

I sure have noticed the birds eating too. We have walnuts and the crows are busy.
Nice to see Sarge smile. I have seen those Killdeers, always wondered what they were, thank you. Great day today. emoticon

Gorgeous photos, as always, and love the sunset. I think you should name the Blue Heron.

    Great Jeanne

Look like the birds are back in your neck of the woods. Nothing doing here but Blackbirds, Pigeons and Magpies, too much natural food around for them .

I like the shots looking at the mountain range and wish there was something like that here..

Have a good week

I wonder if the birds eating is a sign of a harsh winter. The Farmers Almanac is predicting it according to some people I talked to. Beautiful scenery shots.

Love those scrub jays - great blue color. Not too many brightly colored birds at high altitude, I guess. I miss the cardinals and blue jays and such of my youth in the northeast. Once again, thank you for allowing us this peek into the loveliness around you. Have a super day!

Ooooh!!! Portulaca!! I love those! So pretty!! Always a pleasure to see your birds, your neck of the woods and mostly, Sarge! I wonder about the Grebe, too! Maybe that's why it's hanging around.....waiting for it to show up?! Anything could have happened!
Hope y'all have a great rest of the day! ((HUGS))
