A hug that brought me to tears...

Sunday, September 08, 2013

Tonight I saw a friend at church that I haven't seen in a few months. So when I saw her, I went to giver her a hug. She gives amazing hugs so I thought I was pretty prepared for it, but then, the unthinkable happened. When my friend hugged me, she picked me up off the ground. Like, seriously, my feet were at least a foot off the ground! She's about the same height as me and, I'm sure, weighs less than me, but she picked me up off the ground! I instantly began to cry. My brother has picked me up, but he's also 5-8 inches taller than me and he is strong! So tonight, when she picked me up, the tears came and all I could do was let them come because words could not explain the joy, pride or excitement that I was feeling. That was a major NSV that I didn't ever think about happening.:-)

I know exactly what you mean. My son (7 years old) accidentally pushed me off his bed the other morning when I went in to wake him up and I was completely shocked that he was able to move me!

Awesome!!!! I totally used to live in fear of anyone trying to pick me up, including my tall and strong husband. Iíd only let him carry me around if we were in the pool. Once I started feeling comfortable enough with my weight to let him lift me, it was so freeing! I still feel a little weird about it, but itís so nice to know that you arenít so heavy that someone couldnít lift you. So congratulations!!!  I totally get how exciting that is! Great job!!
