Swollen glands. Headaches. Body aches and soreness.
I’ve been feeling rundown since Tuesday evening. I was so tired that night, I decided to skip the gym. I woke up Wednesday morning with a headache and remembered I’d have to just suck it up and deal with it – I had to drive all the way to Hartford, CT that day for an important meeting, so popped two extra strength Tylenol and hit the road.
Suffered through Wednesday and Thursday… went to the doctor’s early Friday morning before work to get their verdict – a cold. Most colds I have usually come with coughing, sneezing, sore throats, loss of appetite – but I just hurt. I don’t get it.
Exercise has been the last thing on my mind. I missed out on personal training yesterday with my husband. This morning, I was supposed to go to the Gluten Free expo in Secaucus. When I woke up feeling like I’d been hit by a Gluten Free food truck instead, I rolled over and tried to go back to sleep.
Anyway, I have that late-Sunday evening feeling I get every once in a while – like I just wasted a weekend because I didn’t get to do everything I wanted to. Time is so precious – I don’t want to waste it being sick.
I certainly don’t have a loss of appetite. Since my plans had otherwise been derailed, we decided to use my husband’s Buy One Get One Birthday Burger at Red Robin ( wp.me/p1N36Q-fU
). It gave me a chance to try out their new interactive allergen menu that came out last month – really easy to use:
This, coupled with their nutrition customizer, makes Red Robin one of the easiest meal planning experiences.
I usually get the Royal Red Robin burger, but I decided to try something else this time since I was a bit caught off guard by the fat and calorie content of my meal the last time around – even with subbing a lettuce wrap instead of a bun ( wp.me/s1N36Q-yummm
I got the California Chicken Burger this time, only I swapped out mayo and guacamole for slices of avocado.
I have to say, this was the most impressive lettuce wrap I have had to date. I was actually able to eat this like a sandwich instead of resorting to fork and knife. And not a bad choice at 494 calories, 33 grams of fat, and 38 grams of protein. Carbs – well, overdid it there anyway with the addition of the french fries, but had this late enough in the afternoon to count for lunch and dinner.
Anyway, the burger was tasty, but didn’t really make me feel better. Feeling exhausted and a bit down about facing a full work week this week.
