I found SparkPeople a couple of weeks ago and have been obsessively poking around ever since. I love the amazing people on this site and received inspiration to write a blog from Bobcatgirl76. I think the key to my regaining my health will be honesty on my part and this blog will keep me accountable. I know that I need support and have very little of it. The blog will help me build that up - hopefully.
In October 2012 I stood on the scale and saw a jackpot number: 200.0 pounds. That was another wake up call for me - I went on a strict 1200 calories and recorded all of my food on an app called MYFitnessPal. I lost 20 pounds, but then some bad stuff happened and my emotional eating kicked back in. I gained 10 pounds back after my March disasters. I know that my life now depends on eating healthy.
I started 'dieting' 29 years ago when I was 40 years old. I am a Lifetime member with Weight Watchers which was my first venture in weight loss. I kept the 20 pounds off for 2 years and then the yo yo-ing began and I went from one diet to another after each weight gain.. Now, I am 40 pounds overweight, but according to the old Weight Watcher’s standards I am 60 pounds overweight because my goal weight back then was 130 pounds and is now 150.
Tomorrow, I will blog about my first major grocery shopping trip in 15 years. Please come back to see how it turned out. I hope that I can inspire myself and at least one other person to follow a healthy eating plan. This first blog is short and doesn’t exactly say what I wanted, but at least I got it done!
