I love cats...

Saturday, September 07, 2013

"I love cats because I enjoy my home; and little by little, they become its visible soul."
~~ Jean Cocteau

Thank you so much to my Spark Friend, "Improving Me" for sending me this wonderful quotation.

I had to read up on Cocteau---what an intriguing person with a list of lovers that must have kept him vexed and perplexed. The cats must have been a great escape from his dramatic lovers!

The sense of home really is personified by the presence of cats - I've read that quote before but never thought about how true it is. Wow!

Despite their unceasing demands we love our two boys and the girl who still won't come into our home and prefers the outdoor life - and we remain hopeful that one day we will be accepted by her!
I always find it interesting to know who is a "cat" person; when I did my family tree I found out that Beverly Nichols was a cat-lover, an affection he inherited from his mother which explains our felinephile nature - she was my side of the family!

He was a fascinating man, to say the least. His film Beauty and the Beast is one of the great classics of early cinema. Interesting to know his feelings on cats!

In my case, the cat (my grandkitty) is the ruler and queen of the house. She knows everything that goes on at all times.
