Lots of hardware in FIL back

Saturday, September 07, 2013

Thought you all might enjoy seeing all the hardware that was put into my FIL's back. I am thinking that when he goes through security now that he will set off alarms so we might need to carry this photo with us.

He is sitting up now several times per day in a wheelchair for like a half hour at a time. Still remaining positive. They removed all but 4 stiches which will come out on Monday. He is doing fine without headaches, nausea or light headedness. So we are hopeful that he might be able to walk a bit this week.

We have another cloudy day here in Ajijic. Unusual for us to have so many days in the row without the sun. It did come out a little yesterday and that was nice. It might still clear up yet today. No matter will get out and walk the dogs and visit FIL.

DH and I watched some more of Breaking Bad. It is okay but nothing like House of Cards, Downton Abbey or even Homeland. Maybe it will get better.

Hope all of you are doing great. I woke up after eating out yesterday and couldn't believe I was down a pound...105. We met friends for a late lunch and I had 3 fish taco with yummy grilled fish on corn tortillas.

Anyway...hope you all are having a great week end and making good choices.
Have a terrific day

He will need a card to tell them that he has that in him or they will be nasty with him and no telling what they will do. Just look up what the airport security do to the people that have to have bags on the outside of the skin because they had their colon removed.,

Great news about your FIL! I know all about setting off security, they have to do a head to foot personal pat down on me every time because they have never seen someone so young with so many artificial joints. I wish they would do it like I have seen in the states -a full body X-Ray with a surgeon's signature on it in a laminated card that you show to them as proof. I was given one thing a poor Xerox copy of the brand of replacement in my knee, but no signature.
Congrats on keeping the weight down in spite of eating out!

Yes, he might need a letter from the Dr. with the picture. Generally those screws, plates, etc. used in the body are titanium, and that does set the buzzers off. So glad to hear he is progressing.

HUGS and prayers for continued good progress.

Your poor FIL! His spine is now home to sooo much hardware, but his recovery thus far sounds really outstanding. Glad they've taken such excellent care of him! And the fish tacos sounded heavenly! What a tiny weight, Sallie! You sound like you're feeling well, too... emoticon

I love fish tacos! Oh, I can just imagine how great they are in Mexico!!

Hang in there with the weight and up your calories a bit. (I have up mine, too.)

Pretty amazing photo - glad your FIL is better! Can't wait to hear that he's taken that first step. It is so sunny here today that I wore sunglasses on my walk and still had to shade my eyes with my hand from time to time. I'll trade you some sun for a few clouds! Have a great day!

You may need more than the xray to get through security. I'm guessing that they will make him strip down, remove his skin and then maybe they will believe him. LOL

Great news about FIL being able to sit up in a chair. Woke up in Portland to heavy fog. Enjoy your day Salli!
