BEING A PRISONER
Being a prisoner means being confined to something or to someone. When we feel we are trapped in a situation and there is no way out, we feel imprisoned. The feeling of imprisonment can lead to look for ways out and sometimes we look in places we shouldn’t. That is why we need to stay focused on God. We are all prisoners of this world filled with sin and God wants to set us free. He can when we go to Him and ask for His forgiveness and mercy.
Romans 11:32 “For God has imprisoned everyone in disobedience so he could have mercy on everyone.” (NLT)
Dear Lord, there are times we feel trapped. We feel like there is no way out. We feel alone and afraid. We know it is due to the sin of this world and our disobedience to You. Please have mercy on us today. Please forgive us of our sins of fear and disbelief in You. Show us Your way out so we are free due to your mercy and love. Thank You, Lord. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Being a prisoner to the world can keep us from doing God’s will.
Everything we do to seek pleasures from the world will only make us a prisoner to it.
When we are disobedient to what God has called us to do, we will feel like a prisoner to this world.
Feeling trapped in a situation means we haven’t gone to God for the answers.
We may feel trapped in this world and sometimes groping around in darkness, but soon we will have everlasting light.
Isaiah 60:19 “No longer will you need the sun to shine by day, nor the moon to give its light by night, for the LORD your God will be your everlasting light, and your God will be your glory.” (NLT)
