New beginning for old me!

Friday, September 06, 2013

I think I need Spark People once again. Its fall-that time of year I turn in to a couch potato and hang out in the kitchen baking sweet things. At work we are starting Sonic Boom. Its a motivational program to get us moving. We can also track out food! I like Spark People tracking method so here I am losing the same 20 lbs all over again. Like I said--new beginning for old me! Being 62 now it will even be harder. Oh and did I tell you I am going to be a first time Grandma in February?

Awww! Congratulations! :) Have you started buying baby stuff yet? I did when I found out I was going to be a grandma. I couldn't stay out of the baby section every time I went to the store. :)

Have you picked out your new name? I'm Grandmama. :)

Congrats on becoming a new grandma.......I love baking as's apple season. With Donna and Janet and many of us...they are great motivators to keep the couch for necessary rests vs. part of our anatomy. Here's to the new you and positive goals. One foot in front of the another.

Congratulations on being a first time grandma! I have one grandson and I have to say being a grandma is even better than being a mother. I get to cuddle and kiss him. I spoil him rotten whenever I get the chance. He's four years old now and oh so much fun to talk with. You never know what he'll say. As for the weight you know everyone here will support you and it will come off. I do agree the Autumn and Winter months are hard. I think many of us do the baking thing. It just seems that those yummy smells make a house a home when you're baking. Maybe hunt up some healthy recipes here on Spark people so you don't feel so bad if you have a snack now and then. Also freeze most of it so you don't have an easy temptation sitting out in front of you or give it to a friend or neighbor. Bake up a batch of cookies for a women's shelter. It would be well received and make your heart feel full of good will. emoticon

How wise you are to know that this is one of those times of year when you need a little extra push. Your grandchild will be very lucky to have a smart & healthy grandma.

I love to bake too, and it's apple pie season! We both need to get off the couch. I will if you will...

Congrats on the coming grandbaby!
