This WILL be my night. I WILL NOT GET MY @SS KICKED BY 4AM!!! For now, I am trying to accept that waking up and eating is going to be a hard habit to break. But some super smart Sparkers have suggested I try eating more protein when I wake up. So instead of waking up and eating a whole box of cereal... I will have a cheese stick and/or some lunch meat. Hopefully that will serve 3 purposes... 1. Take away my hunger 2. Not send my sugars sky high and 3. Take the joy out of eating at 4 am. I'm not a big fan of protein, in general, and it's the carbs I go after in the middle of the night. Maybe if I take that away, it will make my body uninterested in waking up for a snack. {Or maybe I am dramatically over thinking my body's thought process and it's not going to care what I eat.}

Some wise Sparkers have also suggested testing my blood sugars and reading SP for a while, to distract myself. I'm gonna try those ideas, also. I'm gonna come at this with a million-prong approach and hope one of the prongs will fix it. Or at least give me a leg up. Getting a streak going would make it progressively easier. After all, who wants to break a streak? Tonight will be my night!

The rest of the day has been good. The turkey ham and beans {and big pile of steamed veggies} I made for dinner was really good. I was comfortably full afterward, so that was a nice bonus. Most of the time, after dinner I want to eat another dinner.

After dinner we went to get treats for Ginger. The ferrets in the pet store were going bat crap crazy. They were leaping around and jumping and chasing each other. It was like all of them were on speed or something! Dh put his hand down there to pet the only adult and got his finger bitten. Didn't hurt him, just startled him. Lesson learned, I guess... don't mess with a playful ferret!

Once we got her treats, we were headed home... until I decided I wanted to go get a magazine. Getting a magazine turned into getting Starbucks. Which would normally have been a massive calorie disaster for me. BUT I made a smart choice. I got a tall skinny {sounds like I'm ordering my dh... tall and skinny...} vanilla Frap. It was SO good. I had never had a vanilla Frap at all. Normally I got a venti mocha double java chip diabetic coma. Turns out the vanilla actually tastes better. Whoda thunked!

Because I am a smart girl, that listens to smart Sparkers, I am also trying another tip tonight. Several people suggested that I try eating more protein right before bed. So, in the interest if giving that a whirl, I had some leftover roast beef with lo cal bread. Give that a test run and see if it helps.

And now I am off to stick my nose in a magazine. Hope everyone has had a great day!

  Keep a book handy as well, if you wake up then drink a 2 glasses of water immediately as it will kill the hunger pain and then you can read some of your book. That always puts me back to sleep.

    Wishing you the best! YOU CAN DO IT!

We have 2 beautiful ferrets, a boy named Mark, and a girl named Justine. I got Mark as a baby Dec. 2009 and in Dec. 2011 a couple of months after I married my husband on Halloween that same year, we adopted our princess Justine, and she was guessed to be 1 or 1 1/2 years. They are just too sweet & love giving tons of kisses. xx
