Is this what a plateau looks like?? Week 5

Friday, September 06, 2013

Okay so if you haven't guessed by the title of this blog... here are my results this week.

Original starting weight: 240
Re-Starting weight: 230
Week 1: 228
Week 2: 225
Week 3: 227
Week 4: 227
Week 5: 227

I knew plateau's were real... but I didn't think I would have one SO quickly! I mean i've only lost 3 pounds! Anyway, I can honestly say that I think this is an actual plateau and not just me not doing anything and getting lucky when I hadn't gained.

My eating has been alright.. not terrible, not great. Just average. However, I have still continued to go to the gym every morning M-F this week, as well as last week, and I'm actually really loving going to the gym and lifting weights! So all in all, I'm okay with my results, however, next week i'd really really enjoy seeing a loss!

My goal next week isn't even an eating goal (You all thought it was going to be didn't you? Because it IS an obvious factor that I should change and would probably see quicker results)
Anyway, next week's goal is that I am going to weigh in at the GYM, monday morning, and friday morning. That's it.

If we have been spark friends for awhile you probably know that I am a scale addict! So my emotions are usually on a rollercoaster ride every day. "How could I have gained?!" "YES! I'M DOWN!" "NOOOOO i'm back up :(" "UGh.. why even try?!" So weighing in at the beginning of the week and at the end of the week will be a good starting point for me to being a once a week, or once every two weeks weigher!

On another note.... I lifted heavier weights today in my circuit training, AND, thought I saw a tiny bit of an outer arm muscle peeking at me when doing triceps extensions :D

* Congrats on sticking to the gym and balancing it all.

It may or may not be a plateau. You were in the mid 230's back in July. You are at about the 10 pound weight loss mark. That was when I recently plateaued. restarted at around 215. At 206, I hit a full score plateau.

I wasn't doing anything differently at the gym or table and the weight loss just stopped.

At the same time when I start a new, more aggressive exercise program (especially ST), the weight loss stops as I start (a) building muscle and (b) eating like the horse that's strong enough to do the weight lifting.

All that to say, it could be a little bit of both, on of the two or either.

I hear you. I've been stuck for a couple of weeks now, despite very carefully following my plan. I know it will pay off, and probably soon. But...it's not much fun in the meantime, is it??

Girl the whole point in you being here, is to try...and this is what you are doing, with you working out and lifting and eating OK, it will all catch up with you,So don't stress the plateau, it will eventually stop and you will start losing :)

Now if you CAN make better choices in what you eat, try that. Just ONE THING! Thats all, start small, and see what that does for you. Oh and one more thing, are you drinking your water???? Or soda?? Maybe if you are drinking soda, try replacing that with water for 1 week. I bet you notice a difference then :)

GL this week and GL with your goal for weighing in.Never know, That alone might make a big difference?? :)

Chow for now babe..

Hugs
